Vertical lift Folding Walls offer versatility, adaptability, and maximum space utilization. They are also suitable for creating temporary partitions or adapting to changing space needs over time. "As a large activity room at a school, we sometimes use it for seminars, academic exchanges, and other large-scale events. However, some of these meetings are limited in number, which can lead to space waste. We wanted to solve this problem with partition walls," said Ms. Lin, a client of Shanghai University.
For this project, our wall system adopted a simple, pure off-white color scheme, reflecting the school's conference room design, maintaining a clean and elegant interior. The overall effect creates a more spacious feel, and the wall system is completely recessed into the ceiling, eliminating floor space.
Daitachi's vertical lift wall utilizes a German Nord motor. A key controls the direction of the wall's movement. Two people on either side of the wall simultaneously press a button to automatically raise and lower the panels. This purely electric operation significantly reduces labor and workload, while also significantly saving time.
An air pressure sensor is installed at the bottom of the wall system. If the bottom rubber strip contacts a foreign object, the system automatically stops descending and ascends for three seconds, requiring manual activation to resume operation. Teacher Lin stated, "This safety device effectively prevents accidents. If students pass by or objects fall under the wall system, the problem is addressed immediately, preventing any injuries."
Given that this venue is frequently used for seminars and other events, our design team enhanced the sound insulation within the panels to create a more immersive atmosphere. We incorporated sound-insulating fiber, felt, and even acoustic foam within the panels. This multi-material composite ensures that meetings are shielded from external noise.
Some time after the project was completed, Teacher Lin gave us highly praised feedback: "The school leaders are very satisfied with this project. It not only improves the utilization rate of open space, but also effectively divides the space, allowing two activities to be held simultaneously, which improves work efficiency."
